Surfing has been called a religion, a philosophy, a way of life and an addiction. One thing is certain: surfing requires a lot more knowledge than most sports. Knowledge of the break, conditions, technique, gear, and most of all that innate understanding of the ocean that only comes with years of practice.

This compilation of hints, tips, suggestions and stories is by no means comprehensive, but it's a start. Every few months another pearl of wisdom, or pithy piece of advice finds its way into the tips section. So check back from time to time -- you might learn something.
