Based out in the San Juan islands, between Washington State and British Columbia, Navigator Stove Works has made a virtue of small. The compact stoves burn all kinds of fuel and are ideal for heating boats, cabins and surf shacks. How do surfers fare in the blogosphere? Swimmingly by the looks of it: Santa Barbara Surfing ties the Southern California surf community together with this newsy surf blog. Surfers: Steve Baker's totally goofy, totally fun Java game. Bag work to surf an epic left without leaving your desk. Surf Book: containing all you need to know from Hanging 10 to shapin' blanks, to coaching groms. SURFER: The source. Despite what you think of Ozzie Wright and sportswear for 14-year-old groms, this is still the most widely read surfmag on the planet.
East CoastNow travelling surfers have a one-stop shop for gear. Wicked Quiver stocks everything from board bags and wax to med kits and leashes. They've also got a good listing of airline board fees; worth a look before you buy that discount ticket. New to the web, but an old hand at writing, The Urchin, is a site with a lot of promise. Excellent pics and stories from New England and elsewhere. File this under North Coast or Inland Sea, but if you're caught in the Midwest and jonesing for a surf, check out Lakesurf, your guide to surfing the Great Lakes. Ganja Surf is based in South Florida, but has ambitions to take over the world. Pretty cool co-op surf reporting system and wacky videos. Surf Long Island: Photographer Rich Quinn covers the Big Sandbar with great shots of local rippers. Now with video. Surf Info: Parked on U Florida servers, this site keeps getting better and better. Outer Banks: Nobody can say this waterlogged Mayberry RFD doesn't cotton to tourists. Bunger: Once again, Charlie Bunger is leading the way on the Right Coast. This time he's put up a state-of the-art online shop to showcase the goods. THE Eastern Surfing Association The closest thing EC surfers have to a lobbying group. The ESA always sticks up for surfer's rights (and lefts). Contributions of hard or soft money are welcome. The design's somewhat suspect, but you can't fault the pics on the RI Riders Home Page Allan Weisbecker's a longtime surf journalist who's published a novel online. See AC Weisbecker.
